SPORTS ART
Early in my professional career, I focused on creating life-sized action portraits of professional athletes.
When I moved to San Francisco in 1991, Bay Area sports teams consumed the city, and I realized that an action portrait of an athlete was not unlike my figure series. I tried to capture the passion of the players and the spirit of the game. These paintings were sold at the American Cancer Society benefits where I was able to give a percentage to the charity. This high-profile exposure led to a partnership with two charitable foundations of former San Francisco 49ers, Steve Young’s Forever Young Foundation and Ronnie Lott’s All Stars Helping kids.
